This add-on shows a list of similar threads as you type the title of a new thread.

Also, it optionally displays a list of similar threads at the bottom of each thread in the forum.

The add-on uses XenForo's internal search. Both MySQL and Elastic Search are supported.

Installation:
  1. Upload the contents of the upload folder to your XenForo installation directory.
  2. Import addon-ShowSimilarThreads.xml via your Admin Control Panel.
  3. Optionally modify the add-on's options, located in the Admin Control Panel's options section.
  4. If you chose to display similar threads at the bottom of every thread, you should rebuild thread information for the similar threads to show (Tools -> Rebuild Caches -> Rebuild Thread Information).
Options:
  • The option to only show similar threads that were posted in the same forum the users is creating a new thread in.
  • The option to show full info about the similar threads or minimal info. See attached screenshots.
