This is a small add-on that simply disallows GIF avatars on your board.
The add-on does not check and disable already existing avatars, but only the new ones.
The error message shown when a user uploads an avatar can be customized using phrase alnga_please_no_gif_avatar
The add-on is created as a funded project by @Okuma Steve who gave the permission to share the add-on as a free resource here.
